Software Design

We have developed shared components for our clients that manage user accounts and access, maintain information about key contact organizations and individuals, and link records to supporting documents, images, web sites, and other records.

Development

Centuria evaluates proven and leading edge technologies and chooses the best fit for your needs and your budget. We create prototypes for intuitive, easy-to-use applications that capitalize on the appropriate technology and seamlessly integrate with a solid database architecture. We have developed both web-enabled and client-server applications using a variety of Oracle and Java technologies. Where our clients’ needs required it, we have integrated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools to capture and display spatial information as well as Microsoft’s .NET to create streamlined mobile applications.

Of course, capturing data is only half the objective. Centuria can provide for you powerful data retrieval tools that empower your organization to plan for priorities and meet reporting obligations. We have solid expertise developing formatted reports using Oracle and Jasper technologies, creating custom SQL-based ad hoc query tools, incorporating spatial-based map outputs, and assembling web-accessible “mashups” that pull tabular, spatial, and other data from many sources into one effective interface.

Deployment

Centuria completes its software design and development capabilities by being able to test and deploy small and large systems across multiple platforms. We employ comprehensive testing methodologies and software quality control protocols such as the Rational and Mercury tool suites to rigorously assess the integrity of all systems.

Centuria can deploy production systems to a variety of platforms depending on your infrastructure and your employees’ needs. We have released applications simultaneously to more than 130 locations across the country as well as applications residing in one centralized, network-accessible location. We can also bring to bear our knowledge of Citrix and other terminal emulation software to augment organizational networks with less than optimal performance. When client needs demand it, we can deploy our solutions to hand held mobile devices for use in the field.

Centuria has developed and deployed IT solutions to help the following government organizations streamline their operations:

For the USDA Forest Service we have developed, deployed, and currently maintain the I-Web General Support System (GSS), which contains over 30 applications integrated with a central Oracle database. This web-enabled system provides powerful tabular and spatial data management tools, support for mobile applications, and interfaces to external USDA grants management systems and US government financial systems. Centuria's efforts have helped the Forest Service to standardize data collection and reporting across more than 130 forests nationwide.

As part of Centuria's contract to provide accounting consulting and database support to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, we have helped the VA analyze critical business rules and codify them into the department's central accounting system.
