Adonis Jones joins Centuria as Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist

Centuria is pleased to announce that Adonis Jones (“AJ”) has joined the
corporate staff as the Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist. AJ will be
responsible for all timesheet and payroll matters, as well as accounts
payable matters and expense reimbursements. In this capacity, AJ will be
reporting to Minh Ngo, our Controller.

AJ holds an accounting degree from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA and
comes to Centuria with a strong background in government contracting.

Kevin Burke Named to Spinal Research Foundation Board

Centuria Founder and CEO, Kevin Burke has joined the board of the Spinal Research Foundation. The Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of spinal health care through research and education. In collaboration with elite research centers around the world, the Foundation leads the effort to evaluate the effectiveness of current spinal treatments and to develop innovative therapeutic technologies.

“As someone who has suffered with life limiting back pain for over a decade and been effectively cured after finding the right source of care, I find the work the Foundation supports to be inspirational and so greatly needed,” commented Burke. “I am honored to be part of the board and look forward to helping bring more focus on the impacts of spinal pain on individuals as well as the community at large.”

The Foundation is looking to reverse the epidemic of chronic pain and disability which impacts more than the individual. The trickle down phenomena removes people from work the force, eliminates effective parenting, and disrupts family life. Centuria to Support Veterans Affairs Central Office IT Operations

Centuria has been awarded a contract from Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO) to provide technical services to support various aspects of IT operations.

Centuria brings nearly a decade of experience providing engineering, software development, and program management support to customers across the federal government. Elsewhere within Veterans Affairs (VA), the company is responsible for the maintenance of the information kiosks provided by the VA National Cemetery Administration at over 160 National and State Veterans Cemeteries. The company also manages the commissioning, decommissioning, and maintenance of the PDA servers and devices for the Department.

“As a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, we are committed to the mission of the VA and are thrilled to expand our support of the department,” said Kevin Burke, CEO of Centuria Corporation. “Our prime contractor role on large, complex contracts across the government provides the right experience to manage the varied nature of this contract’s tasks.”
The services provided under this contract include operational support for MS Exchange, MS SharePoint, desk side services, web development, server management, VACO Server Lab and Microsoft Active Directory management, Storage Area Network (SAN) assessment and operations, backup and archiving assessment and operations, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) documentation, 24×7 operational support, VTC, and non-routine services.

Work on the $3.2M valued contract began on 1 October for a one year base period, with a one year option. Subcontractor, SAIC, will also provide support for this contract.

Centuria was named a semi-finalist for the National Capital Business Ethics Awards. (NCBEA). These awards are presented annually by the National Capital Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. These Awards recognize businesses outside the financial services industry which exemplify a strong commitment to business excellence and to the highest standards of civic and social responsibility, integrity and ethical conduct.

Centuria participated in the months long nomination process that included submitting a formal nomination package with business process details as well as numerous interviews with judging panels to dive into how the company conducts itself.

Washington Radar Tower to Officially “Open”

As part of Centuria’s work as Prime Contractor on the National Weather Service (NWS) Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) program, we have overseen the building of a new radar tower in Washington state. This new Doppler radar will help close a large gap for detecting storms approaching Washington’s coast. With the state-of-the-art Doppler radar operational, forecasters can now better determine wind speed and rainfall of incoming storms to give more accurate and timely warnings to residents in harm’s way and help prevent loss of life and billions of dollars in property damage.

On Thursday, September 29^th, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) will attend a ribbon-cutting celebration at the site of the tower. Centuria COO Tim Green, EVP Pauline Healy and the NEXRAD Program Manager, Mr. William Deringer will join Cantwell, other federal and local officials, as well as residents who have worked on making the Doppler radar a reality.

NRM program effectiveness highlighted

The Natural Resource Manager (NRM) project has been rated 9.8 (out of 10) on
the Federal IT Dashboard for its effectiveness in terms of supporting the
agency mission and utilizing investment dollars wisely. NRM is a suite of
over 40 tightly integrated Forest Service applications. The NRM provides a
myriad of mission critical services including asset management, financial
tracking, and permitting and maintenance tracking. Centuria designs,
develops, tests, implements, and documents these applications. The NRM
system enables the Forest Service to account for $8 billion in national
assets and $1.3 billion in grants and agreements. Congratulations to the
Centuria NRM team for their support of this system.

Centuria Earns CMMI Level III Status

Centuria has earned Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 rating for process improvement from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI). Centuria’s IT services, support programs that provide a myriad of mission critical services including asset management, and financial tracking. Centuria designs, develops, tests, implements, and documents these types of applications. The system for one agency allows for our customer to account for over $8 billion in national assets and $1.3 billion in grants and agreements.

CMMI Maturity Level 3 is classified as “defined” which means that the company has sets of processes that are defined and documented. These standard processes are in place and used to establish consistency of process performance across the organization.

“Moving from level two to level three is another example of Centuria’s continual focus on process improvement and delivering quality results for our customers,” said Kevin Burke, CEO and Founder. “We are committed to investing in our people and processes to ensure that we are delivering quality services that result in flexible solutions that meet ever-changing customer needs.”

Day of Remembrance – 9/11 Tribute

The Centuria Team pauses with the entire world to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. That day has impacted all of us in some way and while memories can be painful, we can also celebrate the unity and common purpose that we shared in the weeks after those horrible attacks. We also thank all of our service men and women working daily to ensure we will not experience such tragedy again.

Centuria Welcomes Ken Bianchi as Chief Financial Officer

As Centuria’s new CFO, Ken Bianchi will lead the financial strategy, planning, and reporting of the rapidly growing company.

Bianchi brings over 20 years of experience developing and executing financial strategies for companies. He has held C-suite financial positions with a number of services firms including CPA Global, ACS Transportation Solutions, and AT&T Government Solutions.
